BOARD CHAIR TRAINING & MENTORING:

Miedema’s Board Consulting offers a one hour customized Board Chair orientation session based on up-to-date governance best practices and experience chairing the Board of one of Canada’s largest nonprofit organizations. Follow-up mentoring is available on an as-needed basis.

BOARD SELF-ASSESSMENTS:

A quick check-in for Boards on how well they are performing against their own identified responsibilities and leading governance practice. The Board Self-Assessment comes with a report and prioritized recommendations.

BOARD GOVERNANCE GAP ASSESSMENTS:

MBC offers an assessment of the board’s documents and activities, identifying governance gaps and providing a step-by-step plan to improve the board’s level of governance oversight.

IMAGINE CANADA CERTIFICATION COACHING:

Suanne Miedema is an Imagine Canada Certified Standards Program Coach which allows her to assist nonprofits with their Imagine Canada Certification process. The process can take 6-12 months and there are 73 criteria in the areas of Board Governance, Financial Accountability & Transparency, Fundraising, Staff Management and Volunteer Involvement. Knowing what a successful application looks like and helping to put in place the policies and procedures needed to achieve success saves time, money and the frustration of a failed attempt.
